Just Chillin'

This is a house boat that has been here for a while. The name of it is "Just Chillin".

I wonder if when you woke up after getting drunk, that the movement of the house would make you feel normal, not dizzy like some people would be.

Speeding through the water way

A day of boating and fishing is many a man's dream.

In answer to a previous question about the tree with the colourful bird in it - The yellow flowers are called the bottle brush. They are flowers and the tree does bear fruit near the flowers.

A seagulls day out

When the weather warms up, it would be very common to see humans utilizing the beach. During the colder times, the seagulls get to have their days out to sit on the beach, play in the water and have lunch by the waters edge.

To keep the sand in

This is here to stop the sand on the beach flowing away. If you see one of my previous photos, you will see the sand curve and build up where this meets the beach.

Is this guy following me

I seem to get a pelican quite close to me in each of my three blogs. There was one in Brisbane Daily Photo (Forest Lake Series) and now at the Gold Coast.

I wonder where in Logan I might find a pelican. I don't think I will though.

A colorful visitor

As I was taking a picture of this tree (I don't know what type it is), this bird flew into the photo to have his lunch. The rainbow lorikeet is certainly a beautiful bird.

Enjoying the beach

A couple taking a walk along the beach while their dog plays all around them. This is the type of lifestyle that people live here for.

Vital Communication

Communication is vital for the co-ordination and effectivness of the coast guard and rescue service. Here is the communication tower which looks very complex. If you have seen Las Vegas Daily photo, you will recognise the objects near the top of the tower.

Rescue

This is the base of operations for the sea rescue division. The bright yellow/orange boats stand out to see them more clearly so people know help is at hand.

Around the other side

I just love these pictures. In this park there use to be a real train engine that had been made safe to climb all over. It was a fond childhood memory.

The train over time started to rust and was closed for repairs. It was repaired and then it just disappeared (except in the minds of many adults who played on it as kids).

Wall art

The wall art on this toilet block is very intricate and well done. It's a pity it was put on a toilet block as it makes spending time admiring it make you look weird.

I took another picture around the back, but I just didn't feel right taking the photo around the female side.

Better weather forcasts

This is a new weather radar that covers an area 256 km away from it. The radar is located on an isolated hill (Mt Stapylton) about 150m above mean sea level, just east of Beenleigh.

The radar is well sited to detect rainfall from the west through to the north, the east and to the south. Storms that move into, or develop in and around the Brisbane valley may be tracked and monitored effectively.

Click here to see the radar results in action.

Many Foods

The Gold Coast will sometimes hold a multicultural fair. You can try many of the different foods from around the world while listening to live music.

Lest we forget

This statue is in tribute to those who enlisted in the great war 1914-1919 from the town of Southport and those who didn't make it back.

Hi, I have finally got my new router worked out and I can return to posting daily.
